BIOPSIES
Stereotactic Breast biopsy
Prep: No deodorants, perfumes, creams, powders, or lotions on the breast or under arm area.
Ductogram
Prep: No deodorants, perfumes, creams, powders, or lotions on the breast or under arm area.
Fluoroscopy
UGI, Esophogram, Barium Swallow
Prep: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight.
Barium Enema
Prep: Patient needs to pick up prep kit two days before the exam. The instructions will be included in the kit.
Lumbar Puncture
Prep: No blood thinners 3 days prior to exam.
Port insertion, picc line insertion and port removals
Prep: No Food or Drink 3 hour prior to procedure. No blood thinners, coumadin, or apirin 3 days prior.
Cholecystogram
Prep: Patient needs to come in 2 days prior to pick up 2 packs of telopaque.
IVP
Prep: No Food or Drink 3 hours prior to the exam. No smoking 3 hours prior.
MRI
MRI pelvis, abdomen, liver
Prep: No Food or Drink 3 hours prior to exam.
CT SCAN
Virtual colonoscopy
Prep: Patient must pick up prep kit five days before the study.
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound abdomen/liver spleen/gallbladder/pancreas/aorta
Prep: No Food or Drink 4 hours prior to the exam.
Pelvic/kidney/renal
Prep: Start drinking 32 oz of water 1 hour prior to the exam and Do Not Empty Bladder.

Thoracentesis/Paracentesis
Prep: If patient has been on blood thinners, we will need an INR and prothrombintime lab done.
Mammogram/dexascan/treadmill/ekg
Mammogram with or without implants
Prep: No perfumes, deodorants or lotions on the breast or under arm area.
Treadmill
Prep: Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes
Nuclear Medicine
Gastric emptying study
Prep: No Food or Drink 8 hours prior to the exam.
Renal scan
Prep: Patient must be well hydrated, drink 32 oz of water 1 hour prior to test. Patient is able to use the restroom
Renal Scan with captopril
Prep: Must be well hydrated, drink 32 oz of water 1 hour prior to exam. Patient is able to use the restroom.
Hida scan
Prep: No Food or Drink 4 hours prior to the exam.
Cardiolite/Persantine Stress Test
Prep: NPO 3 hours prior to the exam

Prep: NPO 8 hours prior to the exam.
Thyroid Uptake scan
